I was listening to my prof talk today about the environment he brought up that Canadian scientists had just won a Nobel Peace Prize. It got me thinking…… Why didn’t we hear anything about this. Nothing in the Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, nothing anywhere… Ohhh wait there was a 5 min blip about it on 680 news and that was it. My prof informed the class to check out Rick Mercer’s blog, so i did and i found the blog titled “Science: 21st century menace“now when i finished reading this i was absolutely appalled for two reasons. 1. That a group of Canadian Scientists were not recognized for their work with Al Gore in helping to save the environment and 2. Because Stephen Harper refused to show up and present the award to these scientists and he didn’t allow any of the cabinet members to attend this ceremony either.
Now here are my questiona: Why the hell was there no public notification or praise brought to these scientists? And what the hell is the government so ashamed of that they cannot attend this reception?
Like anyone else, I just want answers.
